School of Rock を見て以来（[2005-01-25]）、「アアアーーーーァ、アー」
という雄叫びの入った曲名が気になっていたのだが、Led Zeppelin の
『Immigrand Song』という曲らしい。

properties ファイルに Unicode エスケープされた文字列が入っている場
合、-reverse オプションを付けると、元のネイティブエンコーディング
に戻る。

例えば、↑のような文字列があったとして、

% native2ascii -reverse MediaDocument.properties

とすると、

InvalidImage = 画像ファイル "%S" は壊れいているため、表示できませんでした。

となる。

Perl なんかで適当に切り出してエンコーディング変換かけるのも可能だ
ろうけど、native2ascii 使う方がずっと楽。

「画像のプロバティ」内に変な日本語発見:

画像ファイル "…" は壊れいているため、表示できませんでした。

この訳語は chrome/locale/global/layout/MediaDocument.properties で
定義されている InvalidImage なので、これを編集すれば良い模様。

という訳で、最新の FireFox l10n を持ってきて見たが、どうやら既にバ
グ報告されて修正されていた模様。

まさに以下の問題が ntcweb-03 でおきていたので、直した。

2.4 - OpenSSH で「Dispatch protocol error: type 20」と怒られた。なぜ?
このような相互運用の問題が起こるのは、古いバージョンの OpenSSH
が rekeying をサポートしていないためです。 しかし 商用 SSH 2.3
はこの機能を使おうとするので、 接続が止まってしまったり、
"Dispatch protocol error: type 20" というエラーメッセージが表示
されるという経験をお持ちかもしれません。 この問題を解決するには、
最近の OpenSSH リリースにアップグレードするか、 商用 SSH 2.3 の
sshd_config にrekeying を禁止する以下の行を 追加します:

最近、WinSCPを「最近使ったディレクトリに自動で移動する」のモードで
使っていて気付いたのだが、どうやら既に無いディレクトリが指定された
状態でログインしようとすると、そのままWinSCPはサーバからの返答が無
いとか言って、落ちるみたい（ログ参照）。

これは、ホームディレクトリにfallbackしてほしいなあ。
あとで要望を出しておこう。

TRECおよびSPIRITコレクションを使って、よりリアルなWebコレクション
の形成に必要なリンク密度について解析。

・書誌情報:

Replicating Web Structure in Small-Scale Test Collections,

・内容:
Web上のリンク解析ではサイト間のインリンクが重要で、この密度が低い
と思ったような結果が得られない。TREC8〜TREC2003までの結果を見ると、
WEB-IRでリンク解析を用いたシステムは低い結果しか得られていない。こ
れは現在のテストコレクションのリンク密度がかなり低かったためだろう。
そこで、リアルなWebに近いリンク密度を達成する必要がある。
Web上のリンク密度は、ほぼ以下の通り:
・サイト内リンク: 一文書平均 14.2
・サイト間リンク: 一文書平均 4.9
さらにリンク数の分布はpower-lawに従う。
これらの条件に合うようなテストコレクションを構築手法について考察。

・総評（感想）:
前半のリンク情報の解析や必要なリンク密度に至る実験やデータの説明は
比較的分かりやすく、論文も読みやすいが、肝心の「どうやってうまくテ
ストコレクションを構築していけば良いか」についての考察が薄い。

NW1000G-04についても、この論文で示されたデータに沿うリンク密度になっ
ているか、要考察。再現性を実験すること。

CVS最新のrubyだと、mkmf.rb が macro_defined? というメソッドを使う
ようになっていて、うまくやってくれるみたい…。

まず、必要な REXML が入っていなかったので、インストールしておく:

に、Net::HTTP.version_1_2 とすることで、ruby-1.6.8 でも動いた。

arno にSSH経由でログインした時に「You have new mail.」というメッセー
ジが出ないのがずっと気になっていたが、原因と対策が判明。

・原因:
1. tcsh はログインシェルの時は、メールチェックを行わない。
2. OpenSSH は独自のログイン処理を行うので、メールチェックを行わない。

tcsh のマニュアルの mail シェル変数の説明によれば、ログインシェル
として、シェルが起動された場合は、新着メールの通知を行わないそう
な…。
If you are in a login shell, then no mail file is
reported unless it has been modified after the
time the shell has started up, to prevent redun-
dant notifications. Most login programs will tell
you whether or not you have mail when you log in.

しかも、OpenSSH の sshd は 3.0 から CheckMail ディレクティブを廃止
している。

結果、ログイン時にはどのプログラムも新着メールを確認してくれない状
態になっていた。

・対策:
色々探してみても、あまり直接的な回答は見当たらなかったが、次のよう
な説明があった。

So *why* is CheckMail depreciated? Because OpenSSH sees no
reason to perform cross-platform new mail notifications when
it could be handled by the PAM instead. It's not really
a login tool's job to tell you that you have new email.

つまり、「クロスプラットフォーム環境でメール確認をするのは面倒だか
ら、PAMを使え」とのこと。

そこで、/etc/pam.d/sshd に以下の一行を追加:

session optional pam_mail.so

デフォルトでは、sshd の方が PAM を使うようになっていないので、
/etc/sshd_config で PAM を有効にする:

UsePAM yes

これで、ログイン時にメールチェックされるようになった:
% ssh arno

・結論:
tcsh+OpenSSH環境でログイン時にメールチェックされない場合は、
1. PAM をログインセッション開始時にメールチェックするよう設定し、
2. OpenSSH の設定を PAM を使うように直す。

So i'm working on the webalizer, trying to improve it and asked
some people what they would like for it. I look also around a
bit to see what other people have done ( to be accurate i even
did that before to accept to work on the webalizer - i just like
to see how it looks like before to engage with some stuff).

From this work came two features of what would become the WebDruid:

    * path graphs & users flow
    * reworked search engine support

In the same time it seems that a lot of people use the webalizer
not as a web server analysis tool, but for web site analysis.
The enhancements i've done don't fit well with the Webalizer's
author's view. But people seem interested in the new features
i've done.
I take the decision to 'fork' from the webalizer, and to build
something to analyse the website, and not the web server. I will
learn later this is called 'Web Mining'.
